Bantwal: Man injured in scooter accident dies

Bantwal: A local trader, who had been seriously injured in a road accident at Modankap in B C Road, breathed his last at a hospital in Bengaluru.
The deceased has been identified as Palani alias Chinni (51) from Tamil Nadu. He was seriously injured in a scooter accident on May 17.
Palani had been running a poultry business in Bantwala of Dakshina Kannada district for many years. On May 17, he was transporting chickens from BC Road to Gurupura Kaikamba on his two-wheeler.
After completing his deliveries, Palani was returning to BC Road when his scooter skidded and crashed at Modankap of B.Muda village on the Bajpe-BC Road state highway.
He sustained serious injuries and was initially admitted to Mangaluru’s Wenlock Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru for further treatment.
Despite the efforts of the medical team, Palani did not respond to treatment and passed away. His family members informed the police about his death.
A case has been registered at Melkar Traffic Police Station.
