Bantwal: A POCSO case has been registered at the Bantwal City Police Station against a man for developing physical relations with a minor girl.

The accused has been identified as Ashwath from Kinnigoli Kolluru.

As per the complaint, Ashwath had sexual intercourse with a girl studying in second PUC and impregnated her. The girl later gave birth to a male child.

The teenager from Uppugudde in Panemangaluru met the accused at her friend’s wedding in Kinnigoli a few years back. Thereafter, both were in regular touch over the phone.

It is alleged that Ashwath groomed the girl into having sexual relations with him by promising to marry her.
