Bantwal: A video clip from over a year ago showing a woman holding and bursting a ‘garland’ firecracker in her hand has resurfaced online, creating a buzz on social media during this Diwali season.
The woman in the video is identified as Radha G. Hegde from Bantwal, who ignited the firecracker in her hand as part of the Hanuman idol procession that took place around a year and a half ago in front of the Shri Tirumala Venkataramana Temple on the main road of Bantwal.
Radha, an elderly woman, is seen bursting the firecracker with enthusiasm, a gesture that has earned her widespread appreciation. The video has also been shared across several social media troll pages, further contributing to its viral spread.
Interestingly, Radha has also performed this daring act on previous festive occasions, particularly during temple Deepotsava celebrations. According to her, it became a habit due to her husband’s encouragement. Radha said she feels no fear while bursting these firecrackers, adding that she enjoys the tradition.
