Bantwal: One dead, three injured as car hits divider

A 77-year-old man died and three others were injured after thei car hit the divider at B C Road on the night of Friday, April 7.

The deceased was identified as Sadashiva Acharya, a resident of Nandarabettu.

The car was being driven by Sadashiva’s grandson, Akash, and the other passengers included Sadashiva’s son-in-law, Suresh Acharya, and his son, Ganesh Acharya. All four were returning from a religious programme in Puttur when the accident occurred near Ajjibettu Cross.

It is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the divider, causing the fatal crash.

A case has been registered.
