Bantwal: Police raid recreation club; 28 arrested

Bantwal: A recreation club was raided in B Mooda village on B C Road and 28 persons were arrested on charges of gambling on Thursday, June 2.

The raid was conducted under the guidance of inspector Vivekananda.  Police officials have seized a table, six chairs, 52 playing cards used for gambling and Rs 26,900  cash.

During the raid, those within the building threw the money out of the building and tried to escape from the spot. This resulted in a traffic jam on the service road as scores of people gathered to collect the money fallen on the road.

A case has been registered under the Karnataka Police Act.
