Bantwal: Schoolteacher booked for corporal punishment

Mogarnad: A teacher of a school in Bantwal has been booked for corporal punishment. The victim is the student of a school in Mogarnad in Bantwal and the accused social science teacher is identified as Abdul Khader.
In a press release, Superintendent of Police B M Laxmi Prasad informed that on Tuesday, the teacher was taking classes when he is said to have found a mistake in the notebook of the student.
Later the teacher allegedly pressed the head of the student and hit him on his neck with his hand. Eventually, when the student reached home in the evening, he complained of pain in his neck and legs. His uncle took him immediately to Government Hospital here for treatment post which the student filed the complaint.
Based on the complaint, the Bantwal Town Police have registered a case under Section 323 of the Indian Penal Code and under Section 75 of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act.
