Bantwal shed collapse: Death toll reaches 3

Bantwal: The death toll in the Bantwal shed collapse case has reached three.
The rubber tapping labourers of Kerala origin got stuck under a pile of mud as a hill collapsed on the shed where they were residing on the night of Wednesday, July 6.
The deceased are Viji (45), of Palakkad, Babu (46), of Kottayam and Santosh (46) of Alapura.
Jonny (44) of Kunnu is currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital.
While Viji died on the spot, Babu and Santosh passed away at the hospital.
Incident details:
A hill collapsed and fell on the shed in which five daily wage labourers lived. JCB excavator was used to clear the pile of mud to recused the labourers from under the rubble on time. Fire service personnel, town police and rural stations and locals worked relentlessly in the operation.
In the incident one of the labourer had a providential escape, one died on the spot and three others were injured.
