Bantwal: Transgender cheats woman by posing as man on Facebook; arrested

Vitla police arrested a transgender for allegedly cheating a woman by posing as a man on Facebook account.

The accused and the woman had befriended each other on Facebook. He posed as a civil engineer and the duo used to chat with each other over the phone for past four years.

The girl’s mother recently came to know of their affair and confided with her family friend Shailaja Rajesh, who is also an advocate.

The advocate with the help of Vitla police searched for the accused by tracking the location of his phone calls.

The police tracked the accused in Shankaranarayana of Udupi district and found out that he is transgender.

Vitla police have lodged a case and arrested the transgender in connection with cheating the girl.

Police are investigating the case.
