Bantwal: Two arrested for smuggling sandalwood, hunting endangered lizard

Bantwal: Two men have been arrested by Bantwal Forest officials for smuggling sandalwood logs worth lakhs. A monitor lizard was also rescued from the accused.
The accused have been identified as Ibrahim, a resident of Pathur and Moinuddin, a resident of Ira. Two other accused are still absconding.
The accused were arrested from Veerakamba forest, Bantwal while they were preparing to eat the monitor lizard which was later rescued by the forest officials.
Further investigations are underway and a hunt is on to trace the other accused.
