Two unidentified individuals snatched a woman’s gold chain from her neck before making a hasty escape on a motorcycle in Ajjibettu on Thursday.
The victim, Sarojini, had recently leased a shop to Naveen Kulal. At the time of the incident, Sarojini was managing the business while Naveen was away for lunch.
The daring thieves, arriving on a bike, initially pretended to be customers, purchasing small items with an apparent intention to divert attention. Suddenly, one of the assailants, positioned at the cash counter, seized the opportunity to grab Sarojini’s gold chain. The swift and calculated maneuver left Sarojini in shock as the culprits fled the scene.
The stolen gold chain, valued at 1.50 Pawan and approximately worth Rs 75,000.
In a separate incident earlier on Saturday morning in Kaikamba, a similar chain-snatching case occurred, intensifying fears among traders and locals.
