Bantwal: Hindutva activists staged a protest in front of Vittal police station here expressing their ire against a Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) for pulling down a ‘Bhagwa Dhwaj’ (saffron flag) hoisted at Mangalapadavu of Veerakamba village.

The PDO had allegedly removed the saffron flag, that was  as it had been hoisted without permission.

A tense situation prevailed in the area as a verbal duel ensued between two groups over the matter.

The issue was resolved after the flag was hoisted again.
