Bantwal: Video of groups clashing at Melkar goes viral; police register suo motu case

Bantwal: Police have registered a suo motu case after a video of two groups clashing against each other near Melkar here went viral on social media.

The incident took place on Friday, November 19 night when two of the accused Santosh and Avinash met here to strike a compromise over a fight that had taken place between the duo during a Mehndi function recently.

However, things turned ugly and people from both sides of the group began clashing against each other with sticks and soda bottles. The police on patrol duty rushed to the spot to check the situation as soon as they got information about the fight.

The accused however fled the scene upon seeing the police.

The police took up the case after a video of the incident went viral on social media and investigations are ongoing.
