A young man rescued a three-year-old child who fell into a 30-foot-deep well while playing in the yard of his home in Sarapady.
The child, Abhishek, son of Nonayya Naik from Hanchikatte, climbed over the well and sat in a net placed horizontally to prevent debris from falling in. Unfortunately, the net broke, causing Abhishek to fall into the well.
Hearing the mother’s cries for help, Umesh Naik, a resident of Mathadabettu who was passing by on his bike, immediately rushed to assist. Using a rope, he went down the well and managed to lift the child to safety. Shortly after, Abhishek’s father, Nonayya Naik, arrived with two others and helped pull the child out using another rope. Umesh was then safely brought up.
Nonaya Naik expressed his gratitude and said “Umesh was sent by god to save my child. It was because of him Abhishek was safely rescued.”
