Bantwal: Youth arrested for offensive social media post about Mecca

Bantwal: A youth was arrested by the Bantwal Rural Police for posting derogatory comments about Mecca, a holy site for the Muslim community, on social media.
The accused allegedly posted offensive comments on Instagram with the intent to provoke religious sentiments. The post allegedly intended to create distress among the Muslim community and had the potential to incite communal tension and disrupt social harmony.
Taking swift action, the Bantwal Rural Police registered a suo moto case against the youth, arrested him, and presented him in court.
The court has remanded the youth to judicial custody.
