BBMP approves Bengaluru ‘Times Square’ project

Bengaluru: The proposed Bengaluru Times Square project was approved by the BBMP council on Monday.
Allocation of Rs. 10 crore has been made in the budget for the project by the civic body. The project is said to come up at Brigade Road-Opera House junction on Residency Road. The council also approved the revised BBMP budget.
Earlier the budget was Rs 9322.48 crores which is now increased to Rs 10,208 crore. The revised budget outlay also includes a few development works and new projects.
Shivakumara Swamy Jayanthi celebrations, establishment of reverse osmosis (RO) plant in each ward, construction of Bengaluru Arch at eight entry points for the city, construction of union building for BBMP retired officials, financial assistance to Press Club of Bengaluru and development works near Kavika factory at a cost of Rs 1 crore are some of the inclusions for the allocation made.
