Bengaluru: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) civic workers have claimed that the palike has not paid them for over two months.

Civic workers working for BBMP, who asphalt roads, fill potholes and build storm water drains have said that in spite of several requests made to BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad and Mayor R Sampath Raj there is no response from them.

Speaking to media persons in a press meet on Friday, K T Manjunath, chairman, BBMP contractors’ association has warned that the workers will hold a protest at the BBMP head office if they do not pay the workers their regular wages. They have even decided to stop working if their demands are not fulfilled.

According to Manjunath, there are more than 2,500 workers who have been affected by this delay.
