BBMP resues seven snakelets into the wild

Bengaluru: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) wildlife volunteers rescued eggs of endangered snake species in July. Seven hatchlings were released into the wild, after being kept in the incubator for 80 days.
The eggs were kept in an incubator at the civic body’s wildlife paramedical centre.
It has been learnt that, Rajesh Kumar M, BBMP wildlife rescue volunteer, rescued seven Kukri snake eggs from a sump in Hegde Nagar. “The snake might have entered the sump through the rainwater harvesting channel and with no place to escape, laid the eggs in a sill of the sump,” he said.
