Bantwal: A 32-year-old youth succumbed to the injuries he sustained after his two-wheeler was hit by a lorry at Kaikamba on BC Road here.
The deceased has been identified as Ashraf, a resident of Aladka.
On the day of the accident, Ashraf had reportedly gone to drop his friend, Tanveer, who works at a vegetable shop in BC Road.
The mishap took place when a lorry driver, who had unloaded vegetables at the same shop, negligently reversed the vehicle and rammed into the two-wheeler.
A seriously injured Ashraf was rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru where he died on Sunday, February 25, police said.
Notably, people expressed outrage over the incident as several accidents have taken place in front of the vegetable shop in Kaikamba.
Traffic police visited the spot and registered a case.
