Bengaluru: Reacting to the fresh summons issued by Enforcement Directorate, Congress leader DK Shivakumar said that he has full faith in the legal system of the country and though he sudden scheduling by ED is malafide he would fully co-operate with them.
The ED, on Thursday, issued fresh summons to Shivakumar, asking him to appear before it at 10:30 am on Friday. The development came hours after Karnataka High Court declined to stay ED’s previous summons issued against Congress leader DK Shivakumar and his four associates in connection with the cash found at his flat in New Delhi on 2017 August.
Taking to Twitter on Friday morning Shivakumar said, “Have received summons from ED late yesterday night at 9.40 PM asking for me to appear at 1PM in Delhi today. Although the sudden scheduling by ED is malafide, I believe in rule of law & will definitely participate & fully co-operate with them and abide by the law of our country.”
In yet another tweet he said, “IT raid on me was politically motivated for hosting Gujarat Congress MLAs. As a loyal soldier of Congress & a responsible politician, I did what party asked me to do, for which I am being targeted. I have full faith in legal systems & will face this legally as well as politically.”
