Belagavi: Clinical trials for COVID-19 vaccine on children begins

Belagavi: Jeevan Rekha hospital in Belagavi has started clinical trials of a COVID-19 vaccine developed by Zydus Cadila on children.

As many as 10 boys and 10 girls between 12-18 years of age are being given the first dose of ZyCov-D vaccine. The blood sample of children are collected to analyse their immunity level.  So far no side effects are reported.

They will get the second dose on the 28th day and the third dose on 52 nd day.

More than 1,500 children have participated in the three-phase clinical trials of Zycov D Covid vaccine for under 18 group

Jeevan Rekha had conducted the trials of the COVAXIN vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech last year.
