Belagavi Creates History as Karnataka State Official Song Reverberates in BCC

Belagavi: For the first time in the history of Belagavi City Corporation (BCC), Karnataka state official song reverberate and all members of BCC including the members of Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) stood-up to honor the song. Belagavi appears in news for anti Kannadiga movements by Marathi interest groups including MES. However, today on June 24 BCC created a history after singing Karnataka state official song for first time.
Belagavi District Deputy Commissioner, Regional Commissioner N Jayaram ordered to sing the song prior to a programme here in BCC on Saturday.
Following the order, the song reverberate in the BCC and Kannadigas and Kannada organisations in Belagavi expressed their happiness over the initiative taken by the DC. MES members reportedly stood-up to honour the song following the fear that they could lose their post as BCC member.
