Belagavi: Elusive leopard spotted again; holiday declared for schools

Belagavi: The leopard that has evaded capture for the past 20 days was sighted again, raising panic among locals. The elusive wild cat was spotted on the double road leading to Hindalaga at Around 6:15 am on Monday.
A bus driver captured the footage of the leopard crossing the road near Vanitha Vidyalaya on his mobile phone. The leopard was seen running from the Golf course to across the road, before jumping a wire fence and disappearing towards the Camp area.
The leopard is suspected to be hiding in the bushes of the Camp area.
Holiday for schools in Camp area on Monday:
Soon after the leopord sighting, Deputy Director of Education Department Basavaraja Nalatwad declared a holiday for 22 primary and high schools in Belagavi city and rural areas on Monday, August 22.
