Belagavi: In a daring feat, a loco-pilot saved a father-daughter duo from being crushed under the train at the Belagavi railway station here on Saturday.

At 11 AM on Saturday, Ajmer-Bengaluru Train reached Belagavi Railway station. During the stoppage, the father and daughter had alighted the train to buy water bottles. However, by the time they returned, the train started moving.

But while trying to catch the moving train they slipped and were about to be crushed between the platform and the train.

Anirudh Goswami, a loco-pilot who was nearby, pulled them both by the hand and saved their life. In his attempt, Anirudh also hurt his leg.

His bravery in saving lives has received praise from the authorities.
