Belagavi: A tragic accident occurred late on Wednesday night during the Ganesh idol immersion procession in the city, when a tractor-trolley ran over a man in Patil Galli.
The deceased has been identified as Sadanand Chavhanpatil (48), a resident of Patil Galli. Another individual, Vijaya Rajagol, was injured and has been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
The family of the deceased is in deep grief. Sadanand was rushed to BIMS Hospital, but despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
