Belagavi: Man’s ear chopped off in assault over family dispute

Chikkodi: In a shocking incident, a man was assaulted and his ear chopped off by members of his wife’s family over a family dispute.

The victim, Siddu Poojary, a resident of Janawada village in Chikkodi taluk also suffered serious injuries to his head and back in the assault.

His son Malu Poojary, rushed him to Sadalaga government hospital on a bike where doctors advised him to take him to Chikkodi Taluk hospital for further treatment.

Shockingly, the hospital staff said that they did not have a driver when the injured’s family asked for an ambulance and allegedly told Malu to drive the ambulance himself.

Later, Malu Poojary drove the ambulance to take his father to the hospital.

The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Sadalaga police station. Police investigation is ongoing.
