Belagavi: Minister Nirani visits Santhosh’s family; offers condolences

Belagavi: Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani visited the home of the deceased contractor Santhosh Patil in Belgaum on Wednesday and offered condolences to his bereaved family.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the family, Nirani said that he had assured to take care of the family’s needs and assist them to get help from the government.
He also promised to talk to Chief Minister Basavaraj Baommai about providing a government job to Santhosh’s wife on compassionate grounds.

Santhosh, a Belagavi-based contractor was found dead in a hotel room in Udupi on Tuesday. He had allegedly killed himself after writing a suicide note blaming Minister K S Eshwarappa for his death.
The suicide has caused a political uproar in the state as Santhosh had alleged Eshwarappa of taking “40 percent commissions” in the government contracts.
