Belagavi: Missing army officer found at railway station after a month

Belagavi: An army officer, missing for a month, was found at a railway station here on Friday, police said.
Subedar Major Surjit Singh of the Maratha Light Infantry had disappeared suddenly on June 12. The officer who had gone out to withdraw cash from an ATM did not return. His mobile phone was also untraceable.
The disappearance was a cause of concern for the army. There were suspicions that the officer might have been abducted.
Police said the army officer was found at a railway station wandering aimlessly. Police personnel questioned him and his identity was confirmed later.
According to the police, the army official suffered memory loss and had wandered the streets for a month. He was later handed over to the army officials.
