Belagavi: Mother-child dead, several other inured in serial accident at Hukkeri

Belagavi: A mother and child were killed and several others were injured in a serial accident involving three cars and a two-wheeler, that occurred near Rakshi Cross in Hukkeri Taluk at around 8 pm on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Bharathi (28) and Vedanta Pujeri (6) of Bailahongala taluk. It is said that he was traveling on the ill-fated two-wheeler.

Many others, including the drivers of the cars involved, were seriously injured and were admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Two of the cars were moving from Ghataprabha toward Hukkeri while the other car was moving from Gokak toward Hukkeri, sources said.

A case has been registered at the Hukkeri police station in this regard.
