Belagavi: Patient dies of Covid-19; relatives allege medical negligence

Belagavi: A  patient suffering from coronavirus infection died at BIMS hospital here on Saturday, June 5. Alleging medical negligence has caused the patient’s death, relatives staged protest.

The patient of Kakati village, Ambedkar Galli who was admitted to the hospital for Covid treatment died on  Friday night.

The relatives of the deceased got wild, as they felt that negligence on the part of the hospital was the reason for the patient’s death. They claim that the patient was not given proper food.

They then demanded the staff to hand over the body to them, but doctors denied saying that they will hand over the body after postmortem.

Police officials had to intervene to stop the relatives of the patient from attacking the staff.
