Belagavi Police Arrest Man Who Murdered 3 Year Old Girl after Brutal Rape

Belagavi: Belagavi police arrested Uddappa Ramappa Ganigera (32), a resident of Kurubaragoddi village in the district under POCSO Act after he raped and murdered his close relative, three year old girl on Thursday.

The accused was reportedly taken the girl from her residence assuring her some chocolates. Neighbours of the rape victim had seen the accused with the child and no one suspected him as the accused is a close relative of the deceased.

The girl’s parents started searching her after she found missing. The parents of the girl and her neighbours arrived at the residence of the accused and attacked him inconnection with the disappearance of the girl. Following intensive questioning, the accused revealed his brutal act on the girl. Dead body of the girl was found half buried in nearby sugarcane farm. Police investigation is in progress for further legal proceeding against the culprit.
