Belagavi: Police seize Rs 2.73 crore cash being illegally transported from Maharashtra

The Belagavi City Police seized Rs 2.73 crore in cash on Saturday, October 19 that was being illegally transported from Sangli, Maharashtra, to Hubballi in a goods vehicle.

Two individuals, Sachin Menadukoli and Maruti Maragude, both from Sangli, Maharashtra, have been detained by the police.

The cash was being transported in a modified cabin of an Ashok Leyland goods vehicle. Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Control Bureau (CCB) police intercepted the vehicle and confiscated the cash.

The operation was led by CCB Inspector Nandishwar Kumbar. Further investigations into the source of the illegal money are ongoing, and a case has been registered at the Malmaruti police station.
