Belagavi: An incident of KPCC Secretary Satish Jarkiholi’s speech being abruptly stopped at the protest rally organized by the Karnataka Maratha Okkuta was reported here on Tuesday, December 20.

Congress legislators Lakshmi Hebbalkar and Satish participated in the protest rally near Kondasakoppa regarding the 2A reservation and extended their support.

When Satish got his turn to address the gathering, the protesters from the Maratha community demanded to stop his speech, alleging him to be ‘anti-Maratha’ and ‘anti-Hindu’.

Meanwhile,  the protesters raised the “Jai Shivaji Jai Bhavani” slogan.

After a brief pause, Satish continued his speech and ended it.

Later, he left the venue under police protection.
