Belagavi: Seer brutally assaulted for resisting robbery

Belagavi: In a shocking incident that occurred at Hosur village in Bailhongal taluk, a seer was assaulted with sharp weapons after he resisted a robbery attempt on Tuesday late night.

The victim, Gangadhar Swamiji of Moorsavirmath branch sustained serious head injuries and has been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.

The accused identified as Mallikarjun Budshetti has been detained by the police.

It is said that Budshetti faced resistance from the seer during an attempted robbery at the mutt and in a fit of rage he assaulted the Swamiji.
