Belagavi: Taking a cue from the Kannada movie ‘Drishyam’, a man was hacked to death allegedly by his own wife, daughter, and her lover reportedly for being an obstacle to an extramarital relationship.
The victim, Sudhir Bhagwanadas Kamble (57), a real estate agent in the camp area of the city was killed by his own family, police said.
His wife Rohini Sudhir Kamble, daughter Sneha and her lover Pune-resident Akash Mahadev V, have been arrested on the charge of murder, they added.
Sudhir Kamble was hacked to death with a weapon in the early hours of September 17. He was employed in Dubai and had returned to India two years ago during the COVID pandemic.
According to police, Rohini was having an extramarital affair to which Sudhir had objected. He was also opposed to his daughter’s love relationship. Thus a conspiracy was hatched to eliminate him.
The mother and daughter enlisted the help of Akash.
On the night of the crime, Rohini had fed sleeping pills to her son who was at home. Akash arrived at Sudhir’s house on September 16 and in the dead of the night, Sudhir was killed. Drawing inspiration from the ‘Drishyam’ movie, they tried to destroy evidence of their crime.
