Belagavi: Two commandos drown during training exercise

Belagavi: Two commandos from the Belagavi Commando Center tragically drowned during a river-crossing training exercise at the Tillari Dam in neighbouring Maharashtra.
The victims have been identified as Jawans, Vijaykumar Dinawal (28) from Rajasthan and Divakar Roy (26) from West Bengal, both of whom were serving as instructors at the JL Wing Commando Training Center, Belagavi.
The incident occurred while six soldiers were undergoing river-crossing training. The boat carrying them capsized, leading to the deaths of two soldiers, while the remaining four were rescued.
The group had ventured into the backwaters of the Tilari Dam for the training exercise. The boat carrying the soldiers sank midway across the water, causing the unfortunate fatalities.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
