A pipeline carrying drinking water from Hidakal dam to the city was broken, resulting in a massive explosion and significant damage.
The water pressure was so intense that the pipeline ruptured, causing a blockage and unleashing a torrent of water that shot up to a height of 50 feet.
The incident was captured on mobile phone footage, with the scene of water gushing for over half an hour.

Due to the enormous volume of water gushing out of the pipeline, the was traffic jam for few hours on the Belagavi-Gokakrajya highway.
The water flowed into the surrounding fields, causing harm due to the excessive flow.
