Belgaum: 2 dead, incl COVID-19 patient, in collision b/w ambulance and bike

Hukkeri: An ambulance carrying a COVID-19 patient from near Athani to a Belgaum hospital hit an oncoming bike killing the pillion rider on the bike and the COVID-19 patient in the ambulance.
The incident occurred on Friday, September 19 at the Hulloli-Bagewadi road.
Sagar Mallappa Dodavada (18), died while the bike’s rider Gopala Annappa Mulimani (18) sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to a hospital in Gokak. Both of them were returning from Belgaum and were headed towards Rabakavi.
As the ambulance toppled after colliding with the bike, the 51-year-old COVID-19 patient in it from Sindhur village in Jat taluk of Maharashtra died. The infected man was being treated at a private hospital in Athani and was being carried to Belgaum for further treatment.
