Belgaum: Google Maps-aided inter-State house burglars caught by police

Belgaum: The Belgaum Camp Police Station officials arrested two inter-State thieves who targeted houses using Google Maps. Jewellery worth Rs 28 lakhs and a Maruti Suzuki Baleno was seized from them.
The arrested have been identified as Kasinath Karoshi from Ispurali village in Karaveera taluk of Kolhapur district and Avinash Shivaji Adavakar from Damane village in Ajara taluk.
Speaking about the modus operandi of the thieves, Crime Branch DCP CR Nilgar stated that both would plan their robbery from Maharashtra using Google Maps. After finalising an area they would target housed that were locked and vacant.
Both robbed jewellers from many houses in and around the town.
The police have started an investigation a have handed over the duo to judicial custody.
Camp station Inspector D Santosh Kumar, ASI BR Doog, other staff BB Goudara, AK Shintre, MA Patil, BM Naragund, SH Talwar, UM Thaikar and AM Patil were part of the operation to catch the two.
