Beltangady: To prevent traffic disruptions and curb reckless behavior by tourists, highway patrol police from the Mudigere division have started patrolling Charmadi Ghat.

Recent rains have swelled the waterfalls in the ghat, attracting tourists who often park their vehicles along the road, causing traffic obstructions. In addition, some tourists have been seen climbing dangerous rocks, walls, and taking photos in the middle of the road, inviting potential hazards. This issue was recently highlighted in a newspaper report.

Police Patrol

The highway patrol police have initiated patrols to address the inconvenience caused to motorists by tourists and to curtail the excessive antics of some visitors. The patrol officers are warning tourists not to park their vehicles along the road and advising them to avoid venturing into dangerous areas. The patrol vehicle continuously monitors the Chikkamagaluru ghat section, ensuring compliance and safety.
