Beltangady: Man assaults father of girl he wants to marry

Beltangady: Dinesh from Subrahmanya Kaikamba in Kadaba taluk has allegedly injured Somanath Kulal from Vivekananda Nagar in Laila village with a saber.

The incident took place on Sunday, July 11.

The accused gate-crashed into the house of Kulal and reprimanded Kulal’s wife and daughter. Later the accused threatened Somanath with the demand of marrying his daughter.

The accused was about to hit Somanath’s head with a saber when Somanath blocked the accused with his hand and ended up injuring his left palm.

Mahesh, a neighbor who tried to strike a peace talk between the two parties but ended up suffering an injury on his head.

After hearing the wails coming from Somanath’s house, many people turned up outside.

Reports state that Dinesh left the spot in a hurry after threatening the concerned with murder.

Dinesh was arrested after a case was filed at the Beltangady police station.
