Beltangady: Man robbed of Rs 10L kept for daughter’s marriage; case filed

Beltangady: An unidentified person snatched a bundle of Rs 10 lac currency notes from a man at Rifayinagara on Pedamale-Saralikatte Road of Ilanthila village here on March 20 afternoon.

The victim Mohammed K, resident of Karyapadi was putting away the cash below the seat of his two wheeler when the accused came out of nowhere and snatched the bundle from him. Mohammed gave the accused a chase but he managed to escape.

A complaint was lodged at Uppinangady police station in this regard.

It is gathered that Mohammed had kept the money for his daughter’s wedding and was supposed to purchase gold ornaments.

Sources said that police have taken two people into custody for questioning.
