Beltangady: Treefall kills 3, injures 2 at Patrame

Beltangady: Three people lost their lives after a tree fell on them at Patrame in Belthangady on Tuesday, March 9.

A Dhoop tree was being felled near Kayila in Patrame. While it was being chopped, it rolled over and fell on five men beneath it, out of which three lost their lives.

The tree was on land belonging to Lokaiah Gowda from Kayila.

The deceased have been identified as Prashanth Kumbar (21), Swasthik Poojary (23) hailing from Patrame, and Ganesh (38) from Uppinangady. The other two persons suffered major injuries.

Suresh PG,  Beltangady police circle inspector; Pavan Kumar, Dharmastala police station sub-inspector along with staff visited the spot.
