Beltangady: Woman loses Rs 5.61 lakh in Job fraud

Belthangady: Lured by the promise of a job, a woman from Belthangady has lost Rs 5.61 lakh. Poornima R, wife of Ravishankar D K, resident of Kalkani John’s View on Church Road has filed a complaint with the Cybercrime police station.

The complaint stated that she received a call from a man named Kartik and said that he is recruiting urgently for part-time work. He said that she can earn Rs 3,000 to 8,000 per day.

Later, a link was sent to her and the man asked her to register herself. Soon after registration, Rs 100 was credited to her account. Poornima was given several tasks to complete and they fleeced Rs 5,61,537.
