Beltangady: Youth assaults mother, brother with saber; case filed

Beltangady: Police have registered a complaint against a youth accused of assaulting and injuring his mother and brother while they were sleeping.

The complainant John Pinto, a resident of Konkdoy, Kuvettu happens to be the brother of the accused Cyril Pinto.

John in his complaint mentioned that his mother Felcy Monis, and his brother Henry Pinto were asleep when Cyril Pinto assaulted them with a saber.

The mother-son duo were bleeding profusely due to the assault injuries. They were rushed to a government hospital at Beltangady for preliminary treatment and were later shifted to the district Wenlock Hospital.

Further, he alleged that on December 14, a day prior to this incident, Cyril had assaulted Henry with a wooden stick in an intoxicated condition. Henry was administered with first-aid at the local hospital and sent home later.

As per reports, Cyril is said to be suffering from depression.
