Belthangady: It is not every day that a cow gives birth to a calf that has two heads. So when Ramanna Gowda’s cow gave birth to this ‘mutant calf’ he was obviously surprised.

The cow gave birth to a twin calf out of which one has conjoined heads and seven legs.

Currently, the mother and the calf are doing well, however, the two heads come with their set of problems. Since the calf has two tongues it is unable to drink milk naturally, the farmer has to feed him milk from a bottle each day.

When an animal is born with two heads it is called bicephaly. This birth defect is found in a lot of species like snakes, sharks, bulls, turtles, prawns, etc.
