Belthangady: Court finds Madrasa teacher guilty of sexually harassing student on bus

Belthangady: A Madrasa teacher who was accused of sexually harassing a female student traveling in a KSRTC bus has been found guilty by a court in Belthangady.

Saifulla, a Madrasa teacher from Mudigere taluk of Chikkamagaluru, had behaved inappropriately with the student on a KSRTC bus moving on the Dharmasthala-Puttur route near Ilathila-Kadavinabagilu.

Following an investigation, police had filed a chargesheet in court against Saifulla.

Mohammed Saifulla was sentenced to 6 months behind bars and a fine of Rs 5 thousand by the Senior Civil and JMFC Court.

Assistant Public Prosecutor Divyaraj Hegde argued on behalf of the State.
