Belthangady: In a tragic incident, two young brothers, aged 8 and 4 years, in Padangadi village here died just a day apart reportedly due to a fever.

The deceased have been identified as Safan (8) and Sinan (4), sons of Abbas, a local resident.

The children had developed fever for the past few days and were treated locally and stayed at home. However, their condition worsened.

Both the children were admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru after they developed a high fever. Sadly, one of the brothers died on Monday, while the other succumbed a day later on Tuesday.

The sudden death of two children has left the family grief-stricken.

The cause of the fever remains unknown, but it is suspected that the boys may have been ailing from Dengue.
