Belthangady: Speculations are rife that harassment by loan app operators may have led to the death of a 24-year-old man in Puduvettu village. Police are now investigating this angle as well.

Swaraj, a resident of Puduvettu village, had ended his life at his home on August 31. He was an excellent Kabaddi player, and was employed at a private enterprise in Ujire.

Swaraj had reportedly taken a loan from an online loan app and had allegedly paid it off in full.

However, it is alleged that Swaraj was being harassed and threatened to pay additional money by the operators. Many of his friends were reportedly receiving unwanted messages as well.

Meanwhile, police are investigating harassment angle also.
