In a case of domestic violence, an inebriated man assaulted his wife and 19-year-old daughter at Shishila, late evening on December 18. The wife sustained severe injuries including a possible loss of an eye in the attack.
Suresh Gowda (55), residing in Kote Bagilu, Shishila Village, has been identified as the accused. His wife and daughter suffered serious injuries in the attack. Both victims were admitted to Ujire Hospital for treatment.
Suresh, originally from Haveri, reportedly in his drunken rage, argued with his wife, allegedly biting her face and eye and later striking her with a stick, causing significant damage to her left eye.
The matter came to light after the daughter sought help from a neighbor, who quickly informed the police. Police officials arrived at the scene, and the injured mother and daughter were swiftly admitted to a private hospital.
Suresh who had fled the spot was later apprehended by the Dharmasthala police. Further investigations are underway.
