Belthangady: One arrested for peddling MDMA narcotic drug

Uppinangady: A resident of Belandur was arrested by the Uppinangady police for allegedly carrying the banned narcotic drug MDMA.
The accused has been identified as Muhammad Nizar (22), a resident of Belandur Devasya in Kadaba Taluk.
He was nabbed on February 7 from Boluvaru in Nekkiladi while transporting the contraband in a Maruti Car, police said.
It is said that he was carrying 14.4 grams of MDMA packed into 9 small plastic covers which were kept on the dashboard of the car. The estimated value of the drug is around Rs 35,000.
Besides the drugs, police also confiscated two mobile phone sets, a Maruti Alto car and Rs 2,000 in cash from the accused.
